Sernova Corp. (TSX-V:SVA) is a Canadian based health sciences company focused on commercialization of innovative medical technologies. Its lead project is Sertolin, a technology for reversing insulin dependent diabetes through transplanted pig islet and Sertoli cells. The islet cells produce insulin that is compatible with human bodies while the Sertoli cells protect the islet cells from attack by the person's immune system. Sernova has the exclusive right to the patents and associated intellectual property for the therapeutic use of Sertoli cells in the United States, Canada and most major industrialized nations.
